Conclusion

The main difference between the two licenses lies in the flexibility of training and examination regarding the transmission. While Class B requires traditional training and examination in a manual vehicle, Class B197 offers a modern and flexible option that allows the practical exam to be taken in an automatic vehicle without losing the ability to drive manual vehicles. This can be particularly attractive for students who feel more comfortable in an automatic vehicle but still want to acquire the skills and authorization to drive manual vehicles.
